I think you need to use your best judgement on your cat. I don’t know what that judge means by “dead fur”… You do want a beautiful, full coat and I can’t imagine “thinning it out”. If you have some pictures, please forward them. I’d like to better understand what that judge ment by “dead fur”. Please remember that wegies are relatively new to the show circuit and many judges do not know their wegies as well as they should.

I was somewhat shocked when that judge made mention of all the dead fur. This woman is an international judge and has been judging for 10 years. I dutifully “thinned out” Beren’s beautiful coat and took him to another show that she was judging. She still didn’t final him and when I asked her about the coat she said it was better but still had too much dead fur. At that point I decided she didn’t know what she was talking about and have left the coat alone. It will take all winter for it to get back to its previous state. Because I’ve only been showing for about two years I tend to take these judges at their word. Another one who is at almost every show in the area insists that Beren is too fat. Other judges say he’s not. It gets frustrating. I’ll try to get some new pictures of Beren in the next few days and email them to you.
