Three Week Update

Rand and Aviendha continue to thrive. Rand weighed a whopping 17.4 oz and Aviendha is a really nice 15.0 oz this morning. They are getting more and more active, no longer nursing whenever they are awake. I have them in a Nellie Boots basket in the closet and they haven’t escaped yet, although Rand has been hanging over the side thinking about it. Talia can often be found lying on the floor half in, half out of the closet, keeping an eye on them while they toddle around in the basket. I’m planning to move them into our bedroom this evening.

Mr. Fin stops by to say hi now and then, but he’s not the attentive father Peanut was. It was especially noticeable with Talia and Peanut’s first litter that Peanut loved the babies. Any time Talia was with the kittens, Peanut would get in bed with them and take care of them for her. Peanut is still a sweetheart with the little kittens. Tucker and Caboose love Uncle Peanut! I think Fin will like his children once they are big enough to play, but he’s still more kitten than adult himself and he’s very busy getting into trouble and playing with the other cats and kittens in the house.

We spent the weekend in the shop/stud room. The ceiling is all insulated and most of it sheet rocked. The walls are all sheet rocked except for a couple small trim pieces around the windows. Next step is to put the chain link panels back in place and extend the netting up to the ceiling. And we still need to buy an additional chain link panel with a gate to further divide the space. Then I need to get to work taping and mudding the sheet rock in preparation for painting. I think I have the color picked  out for the room — a slightly greenish, light blue called River Mist. I could do it all in white, but BORING! Color doesn’t cost any more than white, so color we shall have! It was a lot of work and I feel it all over my body. Heck of a way to spend my birthday, but I’m glad we’re getting it done.

Tonight I’ll take some pictures of Rand and Aviendha for the website. I also have some work to do on the ForestKatz site. Congratulations to Berit and Guri, Jim and Donna on the arrival of six little angels the end of last week. I do have some pictures of them to post, so look for them tonight or tomorrow morning on their website.

First of all Belated Happy Birthday! Congratulations to Berit and Guri on the new babies. I am sure Fin will grow up to be a very attentive loving father! Come on.He is just a baby himself! I would love to know some basics for a cat room. I want to design a perfect cat room for my two babies when we move to our new home. While that might not happen for a few months, I shall love to know what would make it a haven for them.I am not in a hurry,it can wait a few months..Thank you.
