The Cave Lioness
With the colder weather has come the return of Kefira to our bed at night. She usually snuggles under the covers between Ken and me about 10 p.m. and doesn’t leave until around 5 a.m. Napping under the blankets is a habit the kittens are taught by their Ken-dad. Ken lies in bed in the evening watching tv or reading, with his knees up. He invites the kittens to snuggle in the “dad cave” under the blankets and they love it. Most of them outgrow the habit, but Kefira never has. She insists on being between us, although she usually snuggles next to me. But she won’t sleep on my other side away from Ken — no, she must be between us.
Kefira’s other habit while in the cave is giving me baths. Apparently both she and I need baths before bedtime and she thoroughly washes my hand and arm. Should I try to pull my hand out from under the blanket before she is done, she’ll extend her claws and wrap her paws around my arm. Occasionally she’ll nip at my hand, as if warning me to hold still and be good.
Michelle asked for some updated pictures. I’m going to try to get pics of the three kittens (Polgara, Ce’Nedra, and Taiba) this weekend. And who knows? Maybe the bigger cats will consent to pose as well. McCoy is a a bit harder for me to photograph as he is living in Colorado with Brenda. But I can always ask if she’ll take some new ones for me. I do have a few from the Albuquerque cat show, but they aren’t very good. IF I go to Colorado next weekend, I’ll try to get some of him then.
As for Miss Danica… all I’ll say is that her name at her current home is not Danica, so no use searching for her on other websites.
I’ll tell you all about her soon — probably the 20th.
Oh, and Tenobia has a new home. I knew that if I was patient the perfect home would come along where she could be the Queen of the House. This week I heard from a woman who is looking for an adult NFC and she sounded like just the right person for Nobie. So we’ve corresponded and now all that is left is working out how and when to get Nobie into her loving care. Nobie is such a sweetie, she deserves to have someone special to love her and only her. I’m so happy that person has come along.
