Lisa, Donna and I stay at La Quinta's when we travel. They allow pets with no deposit, and if you join their Returns program it can add up to free rooms fairly quickly. Yes, I read your Blog also!! :-)

I think the Homewood Suites division of Hilton Hotel is often pet friendly. That's where we stayed in Colorado Springs a couple of times. We could leave the cat alone in the room (it was pre-NFC and a wedding). As Lisa says though, local hotels, maybe because of municipality or state laws, vary. I know at one time animals in rooms were illegal in Louisiana period. I don't know if that has changed. My mom in the 50s and 60s swore by Holiday Inn - a Navy family traveling cross country every two years had to know where to stay with the cat!
