Another Good Morning
Everyone at LostWoods is happy and healthy this morning. Well, some are less happy than other because I gave several kittens butt baths to remove the evidence of their tummy upsets earlier in the week. They seem to forgive me that indignity fairly quickly though, so they are probably already happy again.
Taiba was bound and determined to go exploring last night. She’d climb the baby gate, dive over the top and off she’d go. I’d go bring her back and minutes later she was gone again. Belgarath and Garion watched her technique and soon joined her. Ce’Nedra did as well — after balancing on the top of the gate for five minutes thinking about it. So this morning I took the gate down and several of the kittens were madly running from room to room upstairs. The next frontier will be the stairs so they can come down and join the fun on the main floor. It won’t be long.
My suspicions about the origins of the objects on the bedroom floor were confirmed last night when Kali brought a spoon up for her kids. I think this is a sign she’s TOO domesticated. Shira kills toy mice and such to teach her kids about hunting. Kali shows them the tools (spoons, forks, nipples, syringes) that I use for feeding kittens and dishing up the canned food. “Look, when you see lisa-mom with these, mob her and beg for food! That’s when she has the good stuff.” “And see this little spoon? It’s the one she uses to give us treats at shows. It’s my favorite!”
Today will be filled with laundry, weekly cat chores (washing out litter boxes, mopping the floor in the cat room), and generally getting caught up around the house. Oh, and frequent visits to the kittens because I don’t get nearly enough of them during the week.
I’ll also do some work work — I’m on call and I’m babysitting a couple jobs that failed over night. Gotta love that overtime, though.

My kitten (almost 1) loves baths. He finds any excuse to get in the shower and when I have the kitchen sink running always tries to get involved. I tell him to get off the counter (with a spank and a stern voice) probably 20 times a day, he just gets back up. Thankfully he is only on the part of the counter that is the “catch all” part and not where we prepare food. I have never seen him anywhere else. He loves to sit and watch me cook or wash dishes. If there are things in “his” spot he knocks them off and looks at me like “umm this is my spot”. Maybe I should just give in, it’s not like he seems to care that I tell him NO when it comes ot the counters. Everything else he is fine with leaving alone when I scold him.
My little one also loves car rides and plays fetch for hours. When I get my shoes and purse he runs to the door and lays down waiting to go. I open the garage door and the car door and in he goes.
I wake up every morning with at least 10 toys in the bed, apparently in the night he wants to play and brings my husband and I toys in hopes we will play with him. The other morning he had one of his feather teasers and was whapping me in the back with it - haha.
He loves going outside - in the front yard he hides under one of the front bushes and watches it all. Out back he thinks he can go into the woods so he needs his leash out there. He loves the back porch (he cant escape) so I let him out there a couple times a day. He can see under the fence and watches it all happen. He isn’t fond of deer and racoons in his yard so growls at them.

Whoops - didn’t mean to click submit.
Sorry for my ramblings - my intention was to comment on the Lost Woods cats/kittens but it seems I got sidetracked.
You mentioned a female that will be returning to LostWoods, which one is she? When she arrives there will you post some pictures of her?
About the rest of your brood, I just love coming to your site and seeing how those babies are growing up. I have picked favorites from each litter (marking wise) and its great to see how they progress.
Glad all is going well and those babies are exploring so well. I look forward to your blogs and new photos of all the babies as well as the adults!!
